About Me

I have lived in Southern Nevada since I was about 2.  I grew up in Las Vegas & loved it there, but am happy to live elsewhere now.  I still work in Las Vegas & make the roughly 1 hour drive 5 days a week.  No it’s nowhere near as bad as you think, in fact I think it’s better than the 45-50 minute commute I had when I lived in Vegas.  I’ve been very happy to call Logandale my home since mid 2005.  It’s a great little community to raise a family and live in.

Since moving to Logandale, I have gotten involved in efforts to incorporate the Logandale & Overton area into a city.  It has so far been a slow but very interesting and educational experience.

I’ve been working in the IT field since 1996.  I started as a computer hardware technician and have worked up through the ranks.  For the past few years, I have managed large scale enterprise wide deployments and maintenance of everything from operating systems to applications to patches.  For those who are familiar with IT, think Microsoft SMS/SCCM, Symantec Ghost, Softgrid, Admin Studio, etc.

While most people in the IT industry wear their geek badge with honor, computers really aren’t a big interest to me.  My hobbies include diesel trucks & making power with them, riding ATVs and side x sides with family and friends, RVing with my family, shooting, working on motors/mechanical stuff, playing with my kids (one son, one daughter) and American history, especially politics and the founding of this great country.  I also want to start hunting, and plan to put in for a deer tag in 2009 (wish me luck).

I don’t know when I really started following politics, maybe since 2005 or so, but I am without a doubt a political junkie.  If you’ve read more than a post here, you already know that.

I’ve been married to the girl of my dreams for almost 13 years now, and we have been blessed with 2 great kids.

I am an active member of the LDS church, and you will see my religious beliefs mixed in with my politcal beliefs quite frequently, so consider yourself warned.

Loved catching up on your thoughts, especially the Calvin Coolidge speech- that was new to me.
Thank you for picking up where I left off with my study and passion for the founding of America and God’s hand in it. :)

I think you ought to tell a bit about your family in About Me. It felt a little lonely reading it and finding I wasn’t even mentioned. Ryan got a slight nod, but Rebecca also feels left out.

    We love and appreciate you.

What the?!!! Wow! You sure have changed from the guy I knew in high school! I’m way impressed!

I’ve been digging, trying to figure out what you guys have been up to lately and a little bird gave me this blog address. I’m excited to read your stuff!

Tell “the wife” I said hello! I’d love to hear from you sometime! You should get in touch with my dad with regards to your hunting, he’s still into it big time! (They are in southern Utah now and have 5 acres with 4 wheelers and horses.) My mom still asks about you frequently. She adored you!

Take care and keep in touch!
